A Battle Mountain man was killed and his wife seriously injured when their Harley-Davidson motorcycle crashed down a steep embankment in Churchill County, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

Douglas Eugene Bastin, 49, died after his Harley-Davidson hit several trees when he traveled off Clearfield Road in Winfield on a curve about 8:30 p.m., according to state police.
